Visiting Scholars ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** The Faculty of Humanities at Charles University values research excellence, interdisciplin team diversity and a stimulating working environment. It therefore welcomes scholars who wish to come to Prague to collaborate with one or more academic community. The stays of Visiting Scholars take place during semester time (September to June) and can 10 months. The status of a Visiting Scholar can be awarded for up to one academic year, un funding (such as a MSCA fellowship) exceeds this period. Visiting Scholarship is an honorary status and does not include a stipend. However, the Fa of Humanities welcomes expressions of interest from the MSCA, Fulbright and governmental b scholarships applicants. All scholars who have external academic funding in place enjoy th as Visiting Scholars and further rights specific to their respective funding programmes/sc Eligibility The Faculty of Humanities can award the status of a Visiting Scholar to applicants who hol in an academic career, and are employed by a research or higher education institution. The qualified candidates should intersect with or complement research specialisms of Faculty m promise of future joint research projects, joint publication(s), joint degree programmes o collaboration. We particularly invite applications from scholars at universities that already have collab partnership ties with our Faculty. Application Evaluation Applications will require the approval by the Faculty of Humanities official representativ judged strictly on the basis of academic merit and the availability of collaborating colle Due to the courtesy nature of the award, the process of application evaluation may be term Visiting Scholar Status Visiting Scholars are not employees of the Faculty of Humanities (unless the employee stat secured by their external funding arrangement/scheme). They are considered guests. The gra Scholar status is a courtesy that does not oblige the Faculty of Humanities to make any fi or provide any compensation in support of the incoming guest. The Faculty of Humanities does not charge any administrative fees (such as bench fees) in enhance inequalities in academia. Responsibilities of Visiting Scholars • Visiting Scholars are expected to be present in Prague and take part in the research lif of Humanities.  • The form of their contribution to the academic community will be specified before the Vi status award. It should entail at least one of the following activities (depending on the length of th • joint publication or research project application preparation (such as ERC projects) w Humanities scholars, • sharing expertise during a visit of one or two course sessions in the guest's field of • co-organization of a workshop etc.  Please note that Visiting scholars are not required to teach, unless it is part of their e arrangement, such as Fulbright scholarship.
