            CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
            The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University announces an Open Call for for

            of assistant professor (male/female) in the field of English language and literature at th
            Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University in Prague.


            Position description:
            The candidate is expected to participate in teaching of Master’s study programs and both C

            English Bachelor’s programs of humanities, supervision of student qualification theses and
            the research and publishing potential of the Department of Languages and Literature at the
            Humanities.


            Requirements:
            - completed doctoral studies (we require at least Ph.D. degree) in the field of Philology:

            language;
            - excellent knowledge of English, of its historical development and its background (geogra
            society, institutions etc.); the ability to supervise student qualification theses in Engl

            - previous experience in teaching in the field of English language at the university level
            - a long-term experience in the field of translating both scientific and belletristic lite
            modern and historical English into Czech; the ability to teach translation seminars;

            - scientific publications in the field of medieval studies and a good knowledge of the Med
            literature;
            - experience with the Czech and also the international scientific projects and with lectur

            international conferences.

            Commencement of employment: from September 1, 2021

            Half-time (0,5) employment (incoming fixed-term employment contract).
