            INVITING APPLICATIONS FOR A POSITION OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PSYCHOLOGY


            The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University opens a selection procedur
            position of assistant professor in psychology at the Department of Psychology and Life Sci
            Position description:

            - Part-time employment (0.5 full-time equivalent); initially a fixed-term employment contr
            - Active cooperation on developing the curriculum in psychology within the study programme

            Humanities and other fields of study associated with the Department of Psychology and Life
            - Teaching courses in English up to the extent compatible with a half-time position, super
            opponency of student qualification theses in the Liberal Arts and Humanities programme and

            offered by the Department of Psychology and Life Sciences; participation in state examinat
            defences, and other activities of the Department of Psychology and Life Sciences;
            - Participation in research activities of the Department of Psychology and Life Sciences.

            Requirements:
            - Completed doctoral studies in psychology or a related field (or shortly before completio
            - Willingness and documented previous experience in creating and teaching courses in vario

            disciplines of psychology;
            - Ability to teach courses, and to supervise and examine students in English;
            - Documented professional specialisation in psychology; we especially welcome focus on res

            cognition and neuroscience; health psychology or developmental psychology;
            - Publication record in psychology;
            - Experience with empirical research in psychology, experience with grant application proc

            - Previous experience with teaching and research on a university level; we especially welc
            with teaching methodological courses or statistical analysis.
            Required documents:

            - A structured curriculum vitae;
            - A list of own publications which appeared in the past 10 years;
            - Cover letter outlining the candidate’s professional specialisation and vision of future 

            scientific development;
            - One full-text example of own published research (journal article, book chapter, manuscri
            - Annotation and syllabus of one course in some area of psychology which the candidate cou

            in the BA programme in Liberal Arts and Humanities;
            - A copy of certificate attesting to the highest completed level of education.
