25th Anniversary of FHS

            Dear Students, Colleagues, Alumni, Friends,


            Our faculty was founded exactly 25 years ago, on August 1, 2000. FHS UK was established as
            organization of the Institute for Liberal Education (Institut základů vzdělanosti), from w

            the liberal model of university education. The faculty was initiated by two strong persona
            Sokol and doc. Zdeněk Pinc [ URL "https://fhs.cuni.cz/FHSENG-1575.html"] , who are inextri
            to the birth of the faculty. In the following decades, the Faculty of Humanities successfu

            only its unique interdisciplinary bachelor's studies but also accredited a number of origi
            doctoral study programs.


            In both pedagogy and research, the faculty prides itself on multidisciplinarity, intersect
            dialogue between diverse fields in the humanities and social sciences. This synergy is bot

            point and the engine that generates not only graduates with broad perspectives and compete
            also contributes to innovation in science and research. In this respect, the faculty provi
            home for the development of new, internationally recognized scientific disciplines, subdis

            approaches such as applied ethics, ethnomusicology, environmental anthropology, gender stu
            history, longevity studies, civil society studies, and others. The faculty is an inspiring
            that emphasizes activity, individuality, flexibility and responsibility for one’s choice. 

            form a diverse, high-quality and confident community, where respect is a pillar of coopera
            enrichment.


            A celebration with a concert and subsequent reception, where we will commemorate the 25th 
            of the founding of FHS, will take place on Monday, September 29, from 4 p.m. in the large 
            Carolinum and the adjacent representative rooms.
