Please note that the unit of 1st year is semester (!) • In order to pass into the summer semester of your 1st year you need to earn at least 1 • In order to pass into your 2nd year of studies, you must complete the compulsory cours winter semester by the end of the summer semester exam period and earn minimum of 50 c Study rules in the following years of your studies are much simplier. The unit of study (!), that means if you do not complete Comprehensive Exam in Social Sciences, which was you in the 2nd year of your study, you can complete the course by the end of your 3rd ye only 3 attempts for your compulsory exams. If you use up all of them, you cannot continu • Students who began their studies in September 2025 - The unit of study is academic year if you do not complete any compulsory course in the academic year in which it was firstl you, the course can be completed by the end of the following academic year. Please note, only 3 attempts for every compulsory exam. If you use up all of them, you cannot continu ****************************************************************************************** * Elective Courses ****************************************************************************************** Altogether there are 5 groups of these subjects. Within each group, you choose courses acc preferences, always in order to obtain the number of credits required within that group. Unlike the compulsory courses, you register them on your own via SIS. *========================================================================================= * Group 1 - Diploma Seminars (minimum: 20 credits) *========================================================================================= The recommended year for registration of these courses is 3rd year of your studies - the y you are planning to submit the thesis. Diploma Seminar I is taught in winter semester only the classes is to prepare the students for writing their Bachelor Thesis. Diploma Seminar working on the Thesis with your supervisor. *========================================================================================= * Group 2 - Introductions (minimum: 12 credits) *========================================================================================= You have to pass at least two of these courses: Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Introduction to Economics whenever during your study. However it is highly recommended to them during the 1st or 2nd year of your study. *========================================================================================= * Group 3 - Language Competence (5 credits) *========================================================================================= If you are native English speaker, you need to pass Communication Skills in Czech [ URL "h studium/predmety/index.php?id=fe1e9e23583554d24727be19c3c20967&tid=&do=predmet&kod=YBAJ012 are non-native English speaker, you need to pass Competence in English [ URL "https://is.c predmety/index.php?id=fe1e9e23583554d24727be19c3c20967&tid=&do=predmet&kod=YBAJ013"] . You should pass it during your study the end of your study. Both courses are exams based o preparation and consultation with teachers. If you need any help with preparation for the Skills in Czech or you just want to learn Czech, you can register the Czech language for B Czech (Pre)-Intermediate course taught by Czech native speaker. *========================================================================================= * Group 4 - Essential Elective Courses (minimum: 40 credits) *========================================================================================= You choose these courses according to your preferences. The minimum number of credits you them during your studies is 40. Only a few are offered each semester, so it is highly reco fulfill them continuously. If you pass a course in your study plan, you will see a ques the title with the message "passed". *========================================================================================= * Group 5 - Non-Essential Elective Courses (minimum: 16 credits) *========================================================================================= The minimum number of credits for the non-essential elective courses is 16.You will find t the essential electives, in the study plan in SIS or on the study program website. ****************************************************************************************** * Optional Courses ****************************************************************************************** These are the courses usually offered by different programmes and faculties. Liberal Arts study programme offers only one optional course – Extracurricular Internship [ URL "https: studium/eng/predmety/index.php?id=5fac39a15682c5662ca6f2471a18dc51&tid=&do=predmet&kod=YBA Please note that only 31 credits of optional courses can be counted towards the total of 1 required for graduation. ****************************************************************************************** * Repetition of courses ****************************************************************************************** Elective courses - repeating a completed course is not permitted unless otherwise specifie Re-enrollment in the course you have failed is possible, but you need to contact the its t secretary. Credit requirements: • Each academic year has its credit requirements you need to reach by its end in order to into the next units of your study. The credit check is done by the Student Administratio the end of summer semester exam period. That is why you need to have all your grades ent until the end of summer semester exam period. Minimum credits requirement: 1st year 2nd year 3rd year 50 credits 100 credits 150 credits Optimal amount of credits: 1st year 2nd year 3rd year 60 credits 120 credits 180 credits If you want or need to prolong your studies, you have to earn at least 150 credits by the year. Conditions for graduation: In order to be able to graduate you need to fulfill the conditions given by your study pla all of the groups listed above), earn at least 180 credits in total and succesfully pass B Defense and Humanities Exam.
