The Otto Wichterle Award is an honour given by the Czech Academy of Sciences to stimulate and encourage selected, exceptionally outstanding, promising young scientists (up to the age of thirty-five) at the Czech Academy of Sciences for their remarkable contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge in a given area of science.
Director of Oral History Center and researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History (ICH) of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), assistant professor at the Faculty of Humanities Charles University and chairman of the Czech Oral History Association (COHA); interested in qualitative methodology, oral history, military history, institutional history, social and cultural anthropology, digital humanities and contemporary history; currently dealing with the history of the Emergency Medical Service in the Czech lands (1951–2003), compulsory military service in wide perspective (1868-2004) and reflection of the covid-19 pandemic in Czech society.
