Cooperation between FHS and University of St Andrews on research of antigypsyism

The Faculty of Humanities received a grant from the Charles University strategic partnership Seed Funding.. Dr. Yasar Abu Ghosh from the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology will lead the project entitled "Tackling antigypsyism through research and pedagogy" together with Dr. Paloma Gay y Blasco from the University of St Andrews. The project has teaching and research objectives for the coming year. On the one hand, it should result in the preparation of a teaching module that will focus on historical and contemporary forms of antigypsyism using innovative pedagogy. Another goal is to create a network of young scholars on the subject and to prepare a special issue compiled for a leading anthropological journal. Dr. Pavel Baloun from FHS and experts from the Faculty of Arts (Dr. Helena Sadílková, Jan Ort, Veronika Berkyová) will also participate in the implementation of the project. The project is profit from consultancy with Prof. Huub van Baar from the KU Leuven.
