Article 1: Introductory provisions

In accordance with the Charles University Rector's Decree No. 11/2020 issued in connection with the emergency announced by the Czech Government on 12 March 2020 in connection with the koronavir epidemic and emergency measures announced by the Government, I issue this Dean's Measure.

Article 2: Schedule

Principal Dates

Commencement of the academic year 2019/2020:	1. 10. 2019 (Tuesday)
End of the academic year 2019/2020:	30. 9. 2020 (Wednesday)

Tuition in the Winter Term:	1. 10. 2019 – 10. 1. 2020 Last week of tuition in the semester, i.e., 6. – 10. 1. 2020, is intended for written exams, usually in rooms and at times by the schedule.
Exam Period in the Winter Term:	13. 1. – 14. 2. 2020
Winter Holidays:	21. 12. 2019 – 3. 1. 2020

Tuition in the Summer Term:	17. 2. – 22. 5. 2020
	(the teacher may decide to use a part of the exam period for the purposes of teaching after agreement with the program guarantor)
Exam period in the Summer Term:	25. 5. – 18. 9. 2020
Summer Holidays:	1. 8. – 31. 8. 2020 (exam period is interrupted on this date)

Period for the enrollment in the second or higher year of the Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in the academic year 2020/2021 after meeting the conditions (only electronically): 25. 5. – 25. 9. 2020

Special Dates

Faculty Open House:	15. 1. 2020 (Wednesday)

Deadlines for submission of the dissertation thesis and the application for the state doctoral examination in the doctoral study and related dates of the state doctoral exams and defenses of the dissertation works
It is possible to apply for the state doctoral examination and to submit the dissertation at any time during the whole academic year (except for the summer holidays). individually. The work must be submitted at least half a year before its planned defense.

Article 3: Final Provisions

The admission procedure timetable for the academic year 2020/2021 is not part of this Measure and will be set out in a separate Measure.
This Measure shall come into force on the day on which it is signed.
This Measure shall take effect on 21 April 2020.
As of the date of its entry into force, this Measure repeals the Dean's Measure No. 7/2019.
