Hana Havelková (1949 - 2020) was a significant Czech sociologist and political philosopher. Shortly after the Velvet Revolution, she began to deal with gender issues. She published extensively on the topic. Over a quarter of a century she worked at the Department of Gender Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Charles University. For many years she was the chairwoman of the Czech Helsinki Committee.
