A Feminist Reading Group is currently being formed at the Faculty. This group will begin meeting at the beginning of the winter semester 2024 (i.e., October). It is being organized by Dr. Denisa Tomkova from the Department of Theory of Art and Artworks. Texts and discussions will be in English. If you want to join the group, jump in now and fill in the form regarding your preferred meeting time.
This student group would like to bring people together in FHS. While mainly composed of students from the Liberal Arts and Humanities program, it looks to create a community for all English speakers. For now we are working on creating a study space and regular meet ups at pubs or outside during the summer. Everyone that is looking for an English-speaking environment is welcome.

ASambláž was originally founded as part of the Anthropological Studies Master‘s study programme at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University. It brings together those interested in anthropology and other related disciplines, regardless of institutional anchorage, and aims to create a friendly platform for sharing experiences, both academic and personal, and meeting students across years, faculties, and disciplines.

A student magazine that provides a creative outlet for all students and teachers.
Humr has existed under Studenti FHS UK since 2009 (until 2019), and after a four-year hiatus, it was revived in November 2023 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Bachelor’s study program Studium humanitní vzdělanosti. The new version is both in print and online on its website, where you can find the so-called “flipping version”. The plan is to publish two issues per semester to keep the magazine running sustainably.
We welcome all creative souls and writing enthusiasts to our editorial team. It is not necessary that everyone contributes regularly and for a long time. We provide anonymity when required and are open to a variety of literary forms. We share experiences and learn new things from each other. We are an open-minded group that tries not to stick strictly to the themes set by the period, and that seeks to bring back the desire to write and create things that make us happy.
Do you want to try an interview, reflection essay or report but don‘t know how to do it? – We will provide you with ample help and a comfortable environment. Do you feel like you‘re just doing everything out of necessity for school anymore, and maybe you don‘t even feel the same passion as you did before you started studying? Join us and find your fire again.
Whether you‘re interested in being part of our community or want to try to pull something out of your drawer once in a while, don‘t be afraid to contact us!

Most of the student leisure activities at the faculty are covered and provided by the student organization Studenti FHS UK, o.s., which was founded in 2009. It arose from the need for institutional background for student activities at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University.
The goals of Studenti FHS UK are:
to inform students about events at the Faculty,
about study and cooperation opportunities,
and to offer a helping hand to anyone who asks for it.
We are currently organizing regular meetings of the members of student organizations, students and teachers. Don’t be afraid to get involved!

The //udr/žitelná FHS// platform was created in 2024 to connect students, teachers and other people at the Faculty who share a similar interest – an effort to make the Faculty both more sustainable and more “livable”. In addition to environmental issues that affect the daily running of the faculty, our goal is also to participate in making the school and its immediate surroundings a more pleasant place to spend time outside of the classroom.
As student representatives, we are focusing more on sustainability in the daily living of the Faculty and on passing on student suggestions to the Faculty management. Let’s work together to create a stable student community that is not indifferent to the Faculty and the topic of sustainability. We welcome new members from all fields of study!

In the acacia grove (we call it “jungle”), in front of the Faculty building, we keep bees in warré hives, which is a more nature-friendly and sustainable direction of modern beekeeping. Our primary goal is not to overproduce honey and bee products but to build a good human and non-human community. We hold lectures, organize workshops and try to look at beekeeping from different perspectives. Our society is open to all students not only from the Faculty of Humanities but also from the adjacent dorms. Come and learn about urban beekeeping in times of global climate disruption! We are also building a permaculture garden, Hofmanka, which will not only add flower and vegetable beds to the bee hives but will also provide a rest after busy lectures.
