Bennett, Ľudmila Lacková, Mgr., Ph.D and Ph.D. is an executive member of the ISBS (International Society for Biosemiotic Studies) and the vice-director of the ISI (International Semiotics Institute). She is editor-in-chief of the journal Linguistic Frontiers (De Gruyter Open), associate editor of the journal Biosemiotics (Springer) and associate editor of the book series Numanities: Arts and Humanities in Progress (Springer). The first single authored monograph focusing on the applications of Peirce's semeiotic into current research in biology and in linguistics was published in December 2024 under title Language of Life: A Peircean Approach to Living Organisms.
She spent a post-doc research period in Peirce ́s Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism, Texas Tech University. She has a double PhD degree from Palacký University and from the University of Bologna. Her current research involves cognitive- and biosemiotics in relation to digital communication technology, biosemiotic approach to AI, medical semiotics and commercial semiotics
