Beginning of the summer semester of 2013/14 academic year

The summer semester of the 2013/14 academic year starts February 17, 2014.

Online registration to courses starts February 10, 2014. For the students enrolled at other Faculties than the Faculty of Humanities, the registration to FHS courses opens February 11 (22:00).

VIIth Ball of Faculty of Humanities

Dear colleagues and friends of the Faculty,

We have the pleasure of inviting you to the Ball of the Faculty of Humanities on behalf of FHS UK Students Association. This event will be held on Thursday 6th March 2014 coincidentally exactly 123 years to the day since the first dance performance of Martin Heidegger at the Berlin Interactive Museum of Miniatures.

The ball will take place at the Art Nouveau Hall Na Marjánce (Bělohorská 35/262, Praha 6, Břevnov). We start at 7 pm. For your entertainment there will be the Tap dance trio The Boys, bronze at the Championship of the World, and a swing workshop with the dancers from Cream Swing. The Bigband Plus and the rock’n’roll Caktus Showband will make the perfect accompaniment to your dancing. The whole evening will be rounded off at about 1 am by Theology Evening Classes. You will of course have the opportunity to take part in our Raffle.

Come and enjoy an unforgettable evening with friends. After all, Even Heidegger danced!

The Visual History Archive

Charles University in Prague is in possession of one of the most valuable databases of oral history in Europe. The Visual History Archive (VHA), created through the University of Southern California (USC) by the Shoah Visual History Foundation, is a rich tapestry of primary research: witnesses, stories, testimonies, confessions of genocide survivors. Karel Novotný Appointed Professor

Karel Novotný of FHS was appointed Professor (a lifelong title in Czechia) in Philosophy. The ceremony was held on December 18, 2019, in the historic Carolinum building.
