The Faculty of Humanities, Charles University cordially invites you to an exhibition "Couples from the World". The photo exhibition about romantic relationships from Paris region takes place in the Celetná gallery in Prague from September 2 to November 10, 2019.

Exhibition "King Wenceslas IV – Between Two Ages"

Between Two Ages is the sub-caption of a new exhibition which opened at Charles University on September 18 marking the reign of Czech King Wenceslas IV, on the 600th anniversary of his death, a monarch who bridged the period of prosperity under his father, Charles IV, and religious and social upheaval which followed.

Tuition in Winter Term

The tuition in the Winter Term 2019/20 starts on October 1st, 2019 and ends on January 10th, 2020. The last week of tuition in the semester (6th to 10th January 2020) is intended for written exams, usually with scheduled rooms and times. Between 21/12/2019 and 3/1/2020 will be winter holidays.

5th International Balkan Studies Conference

In 2019, the fifth international Balkan Express conference will aim to rethink the Balkans through the concept of “Living together”. Loosely building on the previous conference (the Invisible, the Overlooked and the Forgotten), this year our thematic focus will be on relations of Tolerance, Coexistence, and Reconciliation.

Lecture by Dr Mikhail Suslov

The Department of Historical Sociology cordially invites you to the guest lecture "Russian world" and other imaginary places: Geopolitical ideas in post-Soviet Russia, which will be delivered by Dr Mikhail Suslov, University of Copenhagen. The lecture is part of the lecture series „Milestones of European historical development in historical and sociological context“ of the Historical Sociology Department. The lecture will take place at Jinonice on Monday, November 25.

Monastery of Břevnov - Guided Tour

The monastery of Břevnov is a monastery in the Benedictine tradition. It is the oldest Czech monastery founded in 993 by Boleslav II. The monastery as a whole with the Basilica of St. Margaret and the Margaret Garden is protected as a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The monastery is considered to be the oldest documented place of beer brewing in the Czech Republic, the Břevnov Monastery Brewery continues this tradition.

Designed for students with at least a B2 (upper-intermediate) level of English, this short workshop looks at how to structure a presentation more effectively and build confidence in presenting in English.
