The Department of Historical Sociology, Faculty of Humanities, CU cordially invites you to the guest lecture "Russian world" and other imaginary places: Geopolitical ideas in post-Soviet Russia, which will be delivered by Dr Mikhail Suslov, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The lecture is part of the lecture series „Milestones of European historical development in historical and sociological context“ of the Historical Sociology Department. The lecture will take place at Jinonice, room AKVA (room near the T.G. Masaryk Library, University Area Jinonice, U Kříže 8, Praha 5 Jinonice), 8.00-9.20, Monday, November 25.
Visit and guest lecture of Dr Mikhail Suslov were supported by the program Internationalisation of the Faculty of Humanities as a part of 4EU+Alliance Project „Eastern Europe from the Post-Socialist Perspective: Changes and Challenges“.
Dr Mikhail Suslov is Assistant Professor of Russian History and Politics at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen. His sphere of academic interests includes Russian intellectual history, political ideologies, religiously-motivated political ideas, utopianism and geopolitical concepts. His most recent publications are: co-edited volume Contemporary Russian Conservatism: Problems, Paradoxes and Perspectives (Brill, 2019) and another co-edited volume The Post-Soviet Politics of Utopia: Language, Fiction and Fantasy in Modern Russia (Bloomsbury, 2019).
