Under sections 27 (1) (b) and 33 (2) (e) of Act No. 111/1998 Sb., to regulate higher education institutions and to change and amend other laws (“the Higher Education Act”), as amended, and under the Constitution of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University, as amended, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University has adopted the following Disciplinary Code for Students of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University as its internal regulation:
Infringements of disciplinary rules by students enrolled in the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University (“the Faculty”, “the University”), the imposition of sanctions for such infringements, the disciplinary proceedings, and the details on the Disciplinary Board of the Faculty (“the Board”) are regulated by the Higher Education Act1, the Administrative Procedure Code and the Disciplinary Code for Students of Charles University.
The Board has six members; half of the members are students. Two students and two members of the academic staff are alternate members.
The term of office of the members of the Board is two years and begins with their appointment.
Membership in the Board and the position of an alternate member terminates:
a. |
upon expiry of the term of office; |
b. |
before expiry of the term of office:

Where a position of a member of the Board falls vacant under (3) (a) and (b), the alternate member determined by the Dean takes the vacancy for the time remaining to the end of the term of office.
If the Board receives a proposal for the commencement of disciplinary proceedings with one of its members or alternate members, such member or alternate member is excluded from consideration of and deciding this matter.
The Board decides by secret ballot.
The Dean’s office provides assistance to the Board.
Disciplinary proceedings started before the date of legal effect of this Code will be completed under this Code and the Disciplinary Code for Students of Charles University.
The term of office of the Disciplinary Board appointed before the date of legal effect of this Code is not affected.
The Disciplinary Code for Students of the Faculty approved by the Academic Senate of the University on 5 June 2008 is hereby repealed.
This Code was approved by the Academic Senate of the Faculty on 20 April 2017.
This Code comes into legal force on the date of its approval by the Academic Senate of the University.2
This Code becomes effective on the first day of the calendar month following the date of its legal force.
