Personal Profile

Doc. PhDr. Tereza Pospíšilová, M.A., Ph.D., is an associate professor of sociology at the Department of Sociology, Charles University. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary topics volunteering and philanthropy. She is the author of the monograph Central European University in Prague and Czech Sociology: a Study of Transnational Philanthropy (SLON, 2017), co-author of Stories of Civic Sector Building in the Czech Republic after 1989 (Karolinum, 2019), and author of numerous articles and chapters. She is actively involved in the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR). She has worked with non-governmental non-profit organisations and has authored or co-authored research for the Czech Government Office in the field of the non-profit sector. She is the supervisor of the Master's degree programme in Civil Society Studies and the PhD programme in Civil Sector Studies. She is an assessor at NAU and a member of the Scientific Board of the Cooperatio programme Sociology and Applied Social Science (Charles University).
