V nakladatelství Emerald vychází nová kniha Jiřího Šubrta, který působí na Katedře sociologie, s názvem The Sociological Inheritance of the 1960s: Historical Reflections on a Decade of Changing Thought. Její text přináší zamyšlení nad charakterem sociologie v 60. letech 20. století, jejichž dramatické události, ale zároveň i mnohostranný přínos v oblasti lidského vědění jsou dodnes z mnoha důvodů připomínány. Vývoj sociologie je v této práci zasazen do širšího rámce změn, které se odehrávaly na poli mezinárodní politiky, vědy, kultury a umění. V jednotlivých kapitolách se Jiří Šubrt věnuje otázkám sociologické teorie na makro i mikrosociální úrovni, problematice výzkumné metodologie, klíčovým tématům a diskusním otázkám dané doby.
