In order to get access to Charles University facilities and information services, students need the Charles University Student Card and CAS login credentials.
Exchange students collect their CU Student Cards on the first day of the Orientation Programme after their registration at the Faculty of Humanities.
Along with your CU student card, you will also receive your Charles University CAS login credentials, unless you have already obtained them remotely.
The Student Card enables you to use university libraries, CU canteens and dorms, internet as well as provide access to some student discounts including a season ticket for prague public transport. There are two main types and you may decide which one you prefer.
1. CU Student card (free of charge)
2. CU Student card with the ISIC licence (for an extra charge of CZK 320) that in addition enables you to get a wider range of discounts (e.g. for culture, sport, travel, bookshops and other (e-)shops or in some restaurants etc.). To get an overview of the discounts covered by the ISIC card, you may visit the ISIC cards website.
The single sign-on serves as your digital ID at Charles University, providing access to the Student Information System (SIS) and other online platforms.
USERNAME, there are two types:
name login (sequence of letters)
numerical login (personal number also printed on the student card)
You can use both usernames to log into the CAS, SIS, and other CU systems.
The CAS PASSWORD
If you collect it in person together with your CU student card, please note that the initial password is temporary only. You are required to set a permanent one via the CAS website within 5 days.
If you set your CAS password remotely, no change is needed.
CU student cards are issued by the CU Point Card Service Centre, located at Celetná street 13, Prague 1.
