FACULTY OF HUMANITIES (FHS)

FHS LIST OF COURSES for incoming students

  • Depending on the term of your exchange, select the appropriate Semester option (winter / summer).

    Both - this option indicates that the particular course is held in both semesters and you can take it either in the witnter or in the summer semester, such a course is listed under both semester options.

  • Regarding the study level, you find BA courses under "YB...." course codes, while MA courses under "YM....." codes.

  • When viewing the list, please note that those courses listed with the "YBAU"course codes (the UPCES courses) and the "YBAC"course codes (the CET courses) are held in cooperation with our partner institutions and there are some extra enrolment restrictions that you need to be aware of.


    It is not possible to enroll "YBAC"-coded courses, if you come just for a semester. These courses are available in spring semesters for those exchange students who are spending a full academic year at FHS only.


    Exchange students can takeup to 2 "YBAU"-coded (UPCES)/ "YBAC"-coded (CET) courses per semester in total in addition to the regular FHS courses. Please see UPCES / CET Rules of Enrolment for detailed information.

  • Under the "YMFPR" course codes, you may find MA German and French Philosophy Courses.

UPCES / CET Courses Rules of Enrolment

  • UPCES Courses (Undergraduate Program in Central European Studies)

    Exchange students can take up to 2 UPCES courses per semester in addition to the regular FHS courses depending on the available capacity.

    When applying students can choose up to 2 UPCES courses, while indicating at least 5 additional regular FHS courses.

    Due to very limited size of these courses, we are unable to guarantee the enrolment in the particular UPCES course you may suggest.


  • CET Courses (Central European Studies and Jewish Studies)

    It is not possible to enrol these courses if you come just for a semester. These courses are available in spring semesters for those exchange students who are spending a full academic year at FHS only. Exchange students can take up to 2 CET courses per semester in addition to the regular FHS courses depending on the available capacity.

COURSES at OTHER CU FACULTIES

It is possible to take courses also outside the FHS, your host faculty, but not more than 49 % in total (e.g. if you would like to take three courses at the Faculty of Social Sciences, you have to take at least four courses provided by the Faculty of Humanities regardless of the overall number of ECTS credits).

Classes Locations

Individual CU Faculties and their departments are located all over the city.

The Faculty of Humanities is located at Pátkova 2137/5, Prague 8 - Libeň, where all the FHS courses are held; except for the UPCES and CET courses.
