In the late afternoon of Monday, March 17, 2025, we welcomed independent feminist academic Sophie Lewis to the Faculty of Humanities. She presented her new book Enemy Feminisms: TERFs, Policewomen, and Girlbosses Against Liberation to a packed Jan Sokol Auditorium. The book discusses the problematic ‘enemy’ feminisms that have emerged throughout history within the feminist movement.
The lecture was followed by a discussion led by Denisa Tomková (Department of Theory of Art and Artworks) not only about what the different archetypes of hostile feminisms have in common. The debate concluded with questions from the audience on finding common ground and current trends on social media.
The evening concluded with enthusiastic applause from the audience and kind words from Sophie Lewis about the lovely reception.
A recording of the event will be available on the faculty YouTube.
