Call for Applications
In compliance with article 2, paragraph 1 of the Open Call Regulations of Charles University, I hereby announce an Open Call for the position of a Visiting Professor in Intellectual History at the Department of History. A preferred focus of the applicant should be on modern (from 1650 onwards) Central European Intellectual History, applications on other areas of Intellectual History will also be considered.
Applicants, holding at least a Ph.D. or an equivalent qualification (according to level 8 ISCED), must be internationally recognized scholars in their research areas. They are expected to teach two 80-minute courses per week at the BA level (MA students might attend as well). At least one of the courses should introduce a topic related to their recent research. The courses will be taught in English. Knowledge of the Czech language is not required.
The position is funded by the Czech Operational Programme Research, Development and Education, project no. CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/16_015/0002362. The funding is available for one semester (5 months), starting on February 1, 2021. The gross monthly salary is CZK 83,000.
