CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University announces an Open Call for the position of assistant professor (male/female) in the field of Medieval English language and literature at the Department of Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University in Prague.

Position description:

The candidate is expected to participate in teaching of Master’s study programs as well as Czech and English Bachelor’s programs of humanities, supervision of student qualification theses and in expanding the research and publishing potential of the Department of Languages and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities in the field of Medieval Studies.

Requirements:

- completed doctoral studies (we require at least Ph.D. degree) in the field of Anglo-Saxon literature;

- languages: native speaker of English; research level proficiency in Old English and Medieval Latin;

- skills in reading medieval Latin and Old English manuscripts;

- scientific publications and teaching experience in the field of transmission of Latin Medical and Natural Historical text.

Commencement of employment: February 1st, 2022

Full time employment (incoming fixed-term employment contract).
