Lecture "Time, Place and Memory: Songs for a North African Jewish Pilgrimage"
Ethnomusicology Program, Faculty of Humanities cordially invites you to a lecture by Dr. Ruth Davis (University of Cambridge) "Time, Place and Memory: Songs for a North African Jewish Pilgrimage". The lecture takes place in Jinonice on April 19 at 3:30 pm. The lecture is held within the Ethnomusicology of Jewish Communities course.
Dr. Ruth Davis is Life Fellow in Ethnomusicology at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge. She was appointed to the first University position in ethnomusicology in the Faculty of Music in 1983. And she is also a member of the Center for Recherche en Ethnomusicology (CREM-CNRS) at the Université Paris Nanterre. She has published extensively on music of the Mediterranean, focusing particularly on Arabic and Jewish music.
