Celebrating Connections

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

we cordially invite you to the Celebrating Connections event, which will be a celebration of twenty years of ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague. On Friday, September 17, from 3 pm CET, you can enjoy a rich program full of live and streamed contributions from renowned world academics to exceptional local musicians at our new faculty building (in Troja)! Join us in our celebration of two decades of various inspiring connections on both the academic and applied levels, as well as of the 60th birthday of the ethnomusicology program founder and leader doc. Zuzana Jurková.

At 3 pm we will start with an ethnomusicological mini-conference with live and online entries, including a keynote speech given by Prof. Kay Kaufman Shelemay (Harvard University). At 4 pm we will move to the faculty's foyer for the launch of our new book, where we will then continue with live music by our friends, which we will also spice up with an attempt to sing together :) Official program ends at around 8 pm, however, we hope you will stay with us also for an informal afterparty.
