The Faculty of Humanities cordially invites you to a guest lecture by Þórdís Edda Jóhannesdóttir (University of Iceland): The representation of materiality and belief. The lecture takes place in Liben (room No. 2.41) on May 3, 2022 at 11 AM.
A discussion on the group of Norse sagas called ‚Family sagas‘ and a detailed reading of a few episodes from selected sagas that reflect on how objects and certain events can be connected with strong beliefs. A comparison on Christian and pagan beliefs will also be provided.
Þórdís Edda Jóhannesdóttir is a lecturer at the University of Iceland. Her research activities focus on Icelandic literature.
