International conference: Enhancing Personal and Household Services in Europe

We invite you to the final conference of the international project PERHOUSE Enhancing Personal and Household Services in Europe: Lessons from Central and Eastern European Countries, which will take place online on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Charles University will be represented by Dr. Petra Ezzeddine and Dr. Olga Gheorghiev.

Countries are moving towards community-based support systems. This means the demand for Personal and household services (PHS) has been increasing. The PERHOUSE project aims to gather data on the working conditions of sector workers in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. This data will help to provide more information on industrial relations (IR) and the challenges of the sector in 12 CEE countries. The project also aims to strengthen EU-level social and national dialogue in the sector. Some advantages of this are the setting of benchmarks for the quality of services, providing access to care and non-care service provided in home settings, and improving working conditions.

The final conference of PERHOUSE will present the project results as well as invite external experts on PHS industrial relations to explore the link between the PHS sector and EU level social dialogue. The event will be in English and interpretation into Czech, Polish, Slovak and Slovenian will be provided. Automatic real-time captioning in 11 languages will be available via Zoom.
