Lecture by Prof. Josephine Berry: Planetary Realism

Join us for the lecture Planetary Realism: Art Against Apocalypse, presented by Prof. Josephine Berry on December 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM at AVU (Veletržní 61, Prague 7, Black Hall).

The lecture explores the emergence of planetary consciousness in art as a response to the climate crisis triggered by industrial modernity. This planetary realism reveals the biophysical reality of our planet, often obscured by capitalist realism. Josephine Berry will introduce artists from diverse disciplines, contexts, media, and ways of life who create new modes of perception and action in light of planetary vulnerability.

The event is free of charge, and open to everyone.
