An international workshop titled "Current Issues in Phenomenological Anthropology" will take place in Prague from October 7 to 9. It is the first joint workshop within the international doctoral program "New Phenomenologies in the Franco-German Space", a collaboration involving the Faculty of Humanities and three other European universities - Bergische Universität Wuppertal, KU Leuven, and Université Côte d'Azur. This doctoral program connects doctoral studies in Nice, Wuppertal, Leuven, and Prague through intensive seminars ("college workshops"), conferences, study days, and summer schools, as well as through the joint supervision of doctoral candidates and student mobility programs, enabling the establishment of international research networks and the integration of a new generation of researchers into the Franco-German dialogue.
The project is devoted to points of convergence and rupture between contemporary French and German phenomenological research in Europe. The programme aims both to trace the genesis of the central themes of contemporary phenomenology in light of their development within the Franco-German space, and to examine the meaning, scope and forms of dissemination of this dialogue in contemporary European philosophy.
The workshop will be held at Centrum Krystal, José Martího 407/2, 162 00 Prague 6 – Veleslavín, in Room 164. The Faculty of Humanities will be represented on October 9 by prof. Hans Rainer Sepp, dr. Vanessa Schmitz, dr. Lutz Niemann, and doc. Hynek Janoušek.
Admission is free! For any questions, please contact prof. Karel Novotný from the Faculty's Department of Philosophy: .
