• 2002–present: Assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities, Charles University (2002–2007 head of the department) – classes (focus on): the anthropology of Latin America, ecological anthropology, applied anthropology, linguistic anthropology and anthropology of tourism.

• 2001–2002: Research worker in the Research Centre of Personality and Ethnicity at Faculty of Humanities in Prague

Stays Abroad

• 2012–2014: Three-year anthropological project in Madagascar called Ecological and Social Change in Madagascar: Betsimisaraka in the Glocalised World

• 2005: Two months among the Kaqchikel (Guatemala) – grant scholarship by the Sasakawa foundation

• 2001: Mid-term field-work among the Raramuri, the Tepehuan, the Pima, the Papago and the Yaqui (Mexico) – grant scholarship by the Sasakawa foundation;

• 1996: Several months among the Raramuri (Mexico), the Bribri (Costa Rica), the Emberá and the Wounaan (Panama-Darién), the Subtiava (Nicaragua) and the Kaqchikel (Guatemala);

• 1992: Two months among the Raramuri in northwestern Mexico;
