Mgr. Zita Skořepová, Ph.D. (1987) – an ethnomusicologist and music anthropologist who graduated in Integral Studies of Man – General Anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague. She has worked at the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 2018 and has been head of the Department of Ethnomusicology and Ethnochoreology since 2024. Her research interests include the music and dance of ethnic minorities and immigrant communities in the Czech Republic, urban ethnomusicology, the folklore movement of the second half of the 20th century, folklore revivalism in post-socialist societies, the role of music and dance in shaping collective and place identity, singing and music as manifestations of cultural and communicative memory, and contemporary music and dance representations of Jewish culture in the Czech Republic.
